What therapy looks like with me?

In our therapeutic journey together, my role is not to provide you with ready-made solutions to your problems. Instead, we will embark on a collaborative exploration to uncover and address the conflicting voices that may be causing turmoil within us. How do we achieve this? Through the transformative process of unlearning and relearning. Life can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be needlessly difficult.

Our focus will be on identifying and dismantling the barriers that hinder your progress, enabling you to cultivate greater balance, fulfillment, and purpose in your daily life.

Think of our work as a gradual and empowering process, where we co-create a toolbox of resources.

Whenever you encounter adversity, we will utilize these tools to navigate through it successfully.

This entails delving into and comprehending your inner world, specifically emphasizing the aspects that require the most attention.

As someone on the receiving end of therapy, I understand the significance of having a safe space that truly belongs to you. It is a space where you can freely experience your emotions and, most importantly, be acknowledged as a human being with your unique journey.

How I explore therapy?

I bring a dynamic range of modalities that cater to each client's unique therapeutic needs. My approach is rooted in a psychosocial, systemic, and rights-based perspective, creating a safe and collaborative space where clients can freely explore their concerns.

In my long-term therapeutic work, I integrate several nuanced approaches, each carefully chosen to support deep, sustained transformation. Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work guide clients in identifying and engaging with the various internal "parts" of themselves, many of which hold emotional pain or protective roles. Over time, clients develop self-compassion and the capacity to heal these parts, fostering an internal sense of harmony. This process requires patience and depth, allowing for the gradual unwinding of complex emotional layers.

My use of somatic and body-based approaches acknowledges the profound connection between mind and body. Many emotional experiences and traumas are stored physically, and through body awareness, clients learn to recognize and release these imprints. This method encourages a reconnection with the body’s innate wisdom, promoting healing on both emotional and physiological levels. Over the course of long-term therapy, clients develop greater bodily attunement, learning to listen to and trust their body’s signals as part of their healing journey.

What distinguishes my approach is the commitment to long-term, relational work. I do not engage in short-term, solution-focused therapy, as I believe that true healing takes time. Long-term therapy allows for a deep, collaborative process where clients can safely explore their experiences without pressure for immediate solutions. This extended engagement enables the unearthing and integration of deeper emotional patterns, supporting meaningful and lasting change.

Ultimately, my aim is to help you achieve holistic well-being, guiding you toward your personal growth and empowering you to take control of your own journey.

My Values

Queer - Affirmative

I honor and affirm the unique experiences and challenges of LGBTQ+ individuals in navigating their sexuality, identities, and relationships. Together, we will explore the impact of heteronormativity, discrimination, and societal biases on your mental health. Our goal is to foster resilience and empowerment within this space.

Trauma Informed

I prioritize working with individuals' experiences and bodies, acknowledging the complexity of trauma and its impact on the body. Through the integration of somatic approaches, our aim is to reclaim their bodies and foster a sense of safety, resilience, and wholeness for their holistic well-being.

Person - Centered Approach

I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I am here to provide support as we explore and uncover the answers that resonate with your authentic self. In our therapeutic journey together, we will explore your internal strengths and resources to facilitate personal growth.

Intersectionalism

I recognize that an individual's challenges and well-being are not isolated but are deeply influenced by these systems and how they shape an individual's experiences and mental health. This awareness facilitates inclusive and comprehensive care in this process.
